Hotel Getting $18M Makeover

EDISON, NJ-Buccini/Pollin's top-to-bottom renovation of the 276-key Sheraton Edison here will be completed by the end of the year.

EDISON, NJ-Owner Buccini/Pollin Group Inc. has launched an $18-million top-to-bottom renovation of the 276-room Sheraton Edison at Raritan Center here. The Washington, DC-based Buccini/Pollin acquired the property this past October from White Plains-based Starwood Hotels & Resorts for an undisclosed price.

Company officials are calling the project “a reinvention” of the property. “It’s being completed in conjunction with Sheraton’s global effort to revitalize their brand with a comprehensive new design of lobbies and guest rooms,” says Buccini/Pollin president Dave Pollin. “Our plans are extensive.”

Plans call for a redo of the hotel’s lobby and other common areas, as well as a remodeling of all 276 guest rooms. The hotel’s 15,000 sf of meeting space, including two ballrooms, will get a similar treatment.
