Statewide, casinos reported gaming revenue of $969.94 million in May 2008, a 15.17% decline from the $1.14 billion they took in during May 2007. In Clark County, which includes the Las Vegas Strip as well as Downtown Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Laughlin and the Boulder Strip, gaming win totaled $810.05 million, a 16.35% drop from $968.43 million in May 2007.

Gambling win for casinos just along the Las Vegas Strip was $513.45 million, down 16.44% from May 2007. Downtown saw gambling win fall 17.32% to $48.24 million from $58.56 million in May 2007. In North Las Vegas, gaming win fell 29.38% to $20.2 million, and along the Boulder Strip gaming win fell 30.20% to $58.4 million.

In Washoe County, which is home to the Reno, Sparks and North Lake Tahoe markets, gambling win was $83.71 million, down 8.77% from $91.75 million in May 2007. In Reno specifically, gambling win fell 7.52% to $61.72 million.

Statewide, gambling revenue for fiscal year 2008, which runs July 2007 through June 2008, stands at $11.55 billion, off 1.93% from the prior fiscal year.

The gaming fees collected by the state in May 2008 totaled $63.99 million, a 22.83% decrease from May 2007, when fees totaled $82.91 million. The state's collections for the fiscal year now stand at $771.84 million, 5.9% behind the prior fiscal year but only 1.87% behind its forecast.
