LAS VEGAS-Nevada casinos won 15% less from gamblers in May 2008 than they did in May 2007, according to data posted to the state Gaming Control Board’s Web site on Friday. Gaming revenue for casinos in Clark County, which includes the Las Vegas Strip, fell approximately 16%, while locals’ markets like North Las Vegas and Boulder, CO, saw their revenue from gamblers fall by closer to 30%, according to the spreadsheet.

Statewide, casinos reported gaming revenue of $969.94 million in May 2008, a 15.17% decline from the $1.14 billion they took in during May 2007. In Clark County, which includes the Las Vegas Strip as well as Downtown Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Laughlin and the Boulder Strip, gaming win totaled $810.05 million, a 16.35% drop from $968.43 million in May 2007.

Gambling win for casinos just along the Las Vegas Strip was $513.45 million, down 16.44% from May 2007. Downtown saw gambling win fall 17.32% to $48.24 million from $58.56 million in May 2007. In North Las Vegas, gaming win fell 29.38% to $20.2 million, and along the Boulder Strip gaming win fell 30.20% to $58.4 million.
