The project, known as the District at CoolSprings Galleria, will feature targeted junior anchors, high-fashion boutiques and sit-down restaurants in a streetscape setting. Both curbside and structured parking will be available to visitors, providing direct access to the mall.
CoolSprings Galleria, a super-regional mall with more than a million sf and 150 specialty stores, has been a big success and caters to a growing upscale demographic, says Stephen Lebovitz, president of Chattanooga-based CBL. The mall's traffic is fueled by 36 office buildings and 4,500 hotel rooms in proximity of its location in suburban Franklin, he says.
"Early on, we recognized the strength of the market developing the first significant retail presence to the area with the opening of CoolSprings Galleria in 1991," Lebovitz said in a release. "With the tremendous growth Williamson County continues to experience, it has been only natural for CoolSprings Galleria to improve and evolve along with it."
CoolSprings Galleria underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation in 2006 to upgrade lighting, entrances, flooring and the addition of amenities geared toward families. This summer, the mall completed renovations to Wild Oats Marketplace, now renamed Whole Foods Market.
