Harman Becker Renews, Expands in SE Michigan

FARMINGTON HILLS, MI-Harman Becker Automotive Systems Inc., a division of Washington, DC-based Harman International Industries Inc., has agreed to three separate lease deals here and in nearby Novi, MI. The company, which makes audio and electronic products for the automotive industry, has renewed its 60,000-sf office lease here, and also launched two leases totaling 57,000 sf in the Haggerty Corridor Corporate Park in Novi, in a consolidation of engineering efforts from other states.

The company renewed its automotive division headquarters lease at 39001 W. 12 Mile Rd. in Farmington Hills for 10 years. The company also signed a 10-year lease for 51,000-sf in the LaSalle Technology Centre South building, at 28845 Cabot Dr. in Novi, for a new engineering center, where it will invest $10 million. Finally, Harman is also leasing 6,000 sf for a short term at Cabot Technology Centre, at 28700 Cabot Dr. Chris Secontine, with Signature Associates, represented the tenant in the leases.
