CBRE spokespeople have confirmed that the firm has snatched Jeff Ellerman, Staubach's executive vice president, and will replant him as its newest vice chairman.
Also coming on board is Jay Bailey, who's leaving Atlanta-based Cousins Properties Inc.'s Dallas/Fort Worth team as a vice president of leasing, and J.J. Leonard, who is a vice president for local firm Capstar.
The market's been buzzing for nearly a week over Ellerman's departure from Staubach, where he's spent the past decade. The 25-year veteran has completed more than 20 million sf of leases, valued at more than $6 billion, in his career. Since 2000, he has closed more of the metro's top 25 office leases than any other broker in the metroplex, according to his profile on Staubach's website. He was also rated last year's top revenue producer out of 1,000 players in 64 offices.
"To the best of my knowledge, we've got one broker who has left and it's Jeff Ellerman," John Gates, president of brokerage for the Americas for Chicago-based Jones Lang LaSalle, tells GlobeSt.com. "We wish him the best."
Bailey joined Cousins in January 2006, specifically to lease the 1.6-million-sf Lincoln Centre in North Dallas. Cousins and Capstar could not be reached by deadline.
