Crash Kills Casino Project Execs

ATLANTIC CITY-The crash of a corporate jet in Minnesota has claimed at least eight lives, including several executives involved in the construction of the new $2-billion Revel Hotel & Casino on this city’s boardwalk. According to reports, the East Coast Jet flight originated in Allentown, PA, picked up several passengers at this city’s airport yesterday morning and crashed in bad weather on approach to the regional airport in Owatonna, MN.

Those killed included Karen Sandland of Tishman Construction Co.’s Newark office, project manager for the Revel project. The victims also included Marc Rosenberg and Alan Barnett of Glassboro, NJ-based APG International, glazing contractor for the project, and two Revel Entertainment Group executives, who had not been identified at deadline.

“Revel is mourning the loss of several of its team members,” reads a statement issued by Revel Entertainment, a locally based group headed by long-time casino exec Kevin DeSanctis. “The design team was heading to Minnesota for a glass manufacturing meeting. The loss is a heartbreak to all on the team.”
