Phases two and three, carrying a price tag of $27 million, are slated for a 16-month build-out, according to Jerry Nugent, president and CEO of LSM/NJ. Phase two, fronting Passaic Avenue, will add 70 independent living apartments in a two-story building connected to Crane's Mill's existing central building. Also part of the plan are 10 residential cottages and 47 underground parking spaces.

Phase three will add the assisted living component of the community. It will consist of 20,000 sf of new and renovated space, enlarged activity space, and the conversion of 60 existing units into 66 special needs units.

LSM/NJ has hired the Union, NJ-based Del-Sano Contracting Corp. as general contractor for the two new phases. The project is the second Del-Sano has done for the non-profit ministry - in July, the contractor completed construction of Mt. Olive II, an affordable housing complex in Flanders, NJ.
