Steve Wheeler, with nine years' experience, is BremnerDuke's new development executive. He most recently worked for Dallas-based Trammell Crow Co.'s healthcare real estate development group.
Also new to the team is project manager Matthew Smith. The nine-year veteran came from Chicago-based Ridge Property Trust's North Texas division.
Coming from Duke's national construction group is 30-year veteran, Ed Woods, who has been promoted to development executive. He will oversee the Veterans Affairs Medical Clinic project in Fort Worth and future ground-up developments. He joined Duke two years ago.
Michael Arne, a 13-year veteran of Duke's construction team, was promoted to director of pre-construction services for healthcare. He will be responsible for cost analysis and design functions in BremnerDuke's South region.
Alex Bennett, who joined Duke in 2005, was named project executive. He too was part of Duke's local construction group.
Ed Bittner, senior vice president of BremnerDuke's South region, says the pipeline clearly warrants the extra staff after two years of laying the ground work. "We've got a lot of stuff coming," he says.
Bittner tells GlobeSt.com that BremnerDuke's the first completion in North Texas will be June 2009 when a 140,000-sf medical office twin and 1,100-space parking garage deliver at Dallas-based Baylor Health Care Systems' Plano campus at 4700 Alliance Blvd. Coming on line shortly thereafter will be an 80,000-sf administration building at its main campus. He says the pipeline holds a family hospital development in Austin and a specialty hospital in Arlington, TX.
