Town Center Gets Preliminary OK

MONROE TWP., NJ-The Verde Group's plans call for retail, offices and set-aside open space for nearly a dozen riverfront acres.

MONROE TWP., NJ-This township’s zoning board has given preliminary approval for a village-style town center on 11.5 acres along the Millstone River. Pending final approval, construction could start within a year. The site is on Applegarth Rd. near Route 33 in this Central New Jersey township.

The developer of the proposed project is the Cranbury, NJ-based Verde Group, and that company’s president, Todd Ochsner, has rolled out plans that include a mix of retail space, a restaurant, commercial office space and medical offices in a total of five stone-wall buildings. Approximately 5.5 acres would be set aside as a conservation area, with a park, walking path and tree-heavy vegetation. The cost of the project has not been disclosed.
