The "electronic lightship" is essentially a blimp with a 2,100-sf lighted electronic screen. Utilizing an array of light emitting diodes, the lightship features a 70-foot by 30-foot aerial television screen that can broadcast a multitude of media from live television and streaming video, to web sites and static images.

Such a display might have been less remarkable when Vegas developers were pulling out all the stops--before the credit crunch and other economic problems put the brakes on development in Las Vegas and elsewhere. Now, however, it underscores how M Resort is one of the projects that remain on track, according to its developers.

As GlobeSt.com reported earlier this month, M Resort, Spa and Casino is fully funded and on track for its early 2009 debut despite the troubles that have plagued other developments. Anthony Marnell III, the developer, told GlobeSt.com recently that all necessary financing and fixed-price construction contracts have been in place since the start of construction of the project, for which a topping-out ceremony was held recently.
