M Resort Raises Profile for Planned Opening

HENDERSON, NV-Many developers are keeping a low profile in these changing times, but the $700-million M Resort, Spa and Casino is planning a higher profile–literally. The casino, which is scheduled to be completed in March of 2009 on South Las Vegas Boulevard, has signed an exclusive agreement with the Lightship Group to bring a flying electronic lightship to the Las Vegas sky beginning in September to promote the new development. The parties say that the airship is one of only three like it in the world.

The “electronic lightship” is essentially a blimp with a 2,100-sf lighted electronic screen. Utilizing an array of light emitting diodes, the lightship features a 70-foot by 30-foot aerial television screen that can broadcast a multitude of media from live television and streaming video, to web sites and static images.
