"The French industrial property market continues to present build-to-suit development opportunities," Ranald Hahn, managing director for ProLogis in southern Europe, said in a statement. He comments that it is hard to "secure large, strategically located, rail-served sites in the greater Paris area." Because of its proximity to the railways, Presles is becoming a good alternative, according to Hahn's statement. This factored into the choice of Presles for the distribution hub.
The property is near Charles de Gaulle Airport, as well as the Parisian beltway, A104. The beltway links to the A1, A4, A5, A6, A16 and A20 motorways, which provide easy access to other local European countries.
"We selected ProLogis fo their quality of product and proven track record," explains Andre Brenninkmeijer, CEO for C&A France, in a release. "We have great confidence in ProLogis and their ability to meet our strategic supply chain needs as we continue to expand our global business operations."
More importantly, Prologis owns land near the site, which can be used to expand the hub another 129,000 sf, if necessary or desired. The development company will also look to attain entitlements for a 134-acre parcel, for a second rail-served distribution park.
