"Previously, Brett Hunsaker, who was senior managing director running the agency's leasing business, departed and now Carol Bell, managing director of asset services is getting married and relocating to Connecticut," which led the company to re-evaluate how it could best serve its clients, Ferguson tells GlobeSt.com. "We came up with an integrated combination of leadership on agency leasing and asset services."

[IMGCAP(2)]As part of those changes, Lanier, who had supervised the Atlanta office's brokerage responsibilities, will now oversee both the integrated agency leasing and asset services, or property management, business. Lanier has been with CBRE since it merged with Trammell Crow Co. last year and has 18 years of experience representing building owners and managing.

Olsen has joined the team to run the tenant representation business in Atlanta after relocating from Charlotte, NC, where he was the market leader for the Staubach Co. for the last two years. Olsen, who was also previously with Trammell Crow, says the city's size in comparison to Charlotte made the move a tremendous opportunity for him.

"CBRE has historically been a dominant player here," Olsen tells GlobeSt.com. "The industry, being in a downturn, gives us the opportunity to come in and prepare ourselves to come out of a downturn and not just continue to dominate but grow. Business is earned way before you realize it. The hard work and planning now will reap the benefits when the market turns."

[IMGCAP(3)]The Atlanta office has a total of 500 employees, including more than 150 brokers. With so many real estate managers and engineers in the field, Lanier will receive additional support on the property management side from Moneypenny, who previously served as director of asset services and has now been promoted to senior director, says Ferguson. Moneypenny has been with the firm since 2004 and has more than 20 years of experience with real estate management, leasing and marketing.

Even though CBRE's Atlanta team has changed, the firm's goal remains the same, says Ferguson: "We want to service our clients with the utmost professionalism, and generate and look for new business opportunities."
