The company has not yet confirmed the exact location of the proposed store but plans to do so at a press event scheduled for 11 a.m. local time. A search through city documents suggests the development site is an approximately 14-acre parcel abutting the north end of Centennial Promenade, a power center at the intersection of Interstate 25 and County Line Road, which is also home to the super-regional Park Meadows Mall.
The property owners recently were granted a rezone of the property in order to attract a destination retailer of approximately 225,000 sf, which is Ikea's preferred building size.
