Mower and teammates Barney McAuley, Brandon Beeson, Mart Martindale and a three-member support staff will come on board Oct. 1, fresh off a four-year run at PM Realty Group. "Their going to Cushman & Wakefield is great for them. They are fantastic people and will do a fantastic job for Cushman," says James C. Gunn, president of Houston-based PM Realty. "It's not like Cushman stole them from us. Stephannie and I sat down and talked."

Gunn explains 90% of PM Realty's business is office and medical office whereas the team largely is recognized for its strength in retail. "It's just a small part of PM Realty and probably will not grow," he adds.

On the other hand, Elizabeth Trocchio Smith, C&W's executive managing director and regional manager in Texas, says Mower, a power broker with 25 years' experience, and her team are perfect fits to fill a gap in the Dallas office. [IMGCAP(2)]Mower has been named executive director and head of capital markets while her long-time partner, McAuley, is stepping in as executive director. Beeson and Martindale will start as senior directors.

Mower's charge is to lead a 20-member group. C&W's investment sales roster includes executive directors Tom Salanty and Susan Gwin, in retail and office, respectively; senior director Kurt Griffin and associate Wilson Stafford in industrial; and associate directors Lamont Rattler and Jason Boyce covering multifamily sales.

"Stephannie and the members of her team are outstanding additions to our Dallas branch, but more importantly, they will be an integral part of our capital markets group nationally and throughout the Americas," John Santora, president and CEO of the Americas for Cushman & Wakefield Inc., says in a press release.

Trocchio Smith says the Dallas office has had top producers as mentors through the years, but not an official leader like C&W has in other markets. "I have been recruiting and talking to a lot of people, but we needed the right fit," she says. "This will really help us to take the capital markets team to the next level in Dallas." She says Mower's expertise crisscrosses the investment sales spectrum, making her the right one for the new leadership slot.

Mower's team still has deals to wrap up for PM Realty, due in large part to the present state of the capital markets. But, her eye is on the future as she prepares to shift the team's national and international client base to C&W's platform and integrate all of the capital markets' professionals in the regional office.

"There will definitely be some changes in the parameters that we will operate," Mower tells GlobeSt.com. "We will bring this team together so we can leverage everybody's experience."

Mower had been president and COO of Woodmont Co. in Fort Worth prior to moving to PM Realty, where she was executive vice president and managing director of the national investment services group. Her background includes developing a third-party services' division for Insignia Financial Group Inc.

Mower's team has been together seven years, with the exception of Martindale and Walters. And, her pride of investment is the team has built a 90% return business ratio. "This is a 100% client-driven team. And, I mean that in the greatest, purest form," she emphasizes.

Mower plans to grow C&W's team while opening new doors for its existing brokers by holding regular meetings for knowledge-sharing and open-floor discussions focused on clients and assets. Mower's long-time support staff consists of Jennifer Cheek, Sharon Bothelo and Will Walters.

"I will encourage everyone on the team to understand where their clients fit, what their challenges are and what they have to face on a day-to-day basis," Mower says. "Whenever the business is really high or really low, there is tremendous opportunity. And with the capital markets, there is tremendous opportunity just around the corner."
