In his new role, Hoeffel will be responsible for the expansion of Investcorp's debt platform including capital deployment for the recently formed US $1 billion Investcorp Real Estate Credit Fund LP. Hoeffel will also be in charge of a range of debt investment activities including originating and acquiring mezzanine debt, subordinate debt, CMBS, and preferred equity positions in US commercial real estate.

Hoeffel will report directly to John Fraser and Jonathan Dracos, co-heads of Investcorp's real estate group. Hoeffel brings 25 years of experience in commercial real estate, including the origination, structuring, underwriting and securitization of commercial mortgages and other real estate securities, as well as the acquisition of performing and non performing mortgages. He was a founding member of the commercial mortgage group at Bear Stearns, where he had responsibility for the origination and sale of more than $200 billion of commercial real estate debt in the US, Europe and Japan, and created some of the most highly regarded securitization programs in the industry.

Fraser says in a prepared statement that the firm has been steadily expanding its debt platform over the course of the last few years. "Chris is joining us in a key role at an important time in the growth of our business," he says. "Chris is a seasoned professional with considerable experience and a successful track record. This will help us identify debt investments capable of delivering superior risk adjusted returns to our investors in all market cycles."

Hoeffel was previously a VP at Eastdil Realty Inc. He began his career in 1983 as a mortgage banker for Walker & Dunlop Inc. "I look forward to bringing my experiences as a mortgage banker, investor, lender, investment banker and bond issuer to Investcorp and to help the firm and its clients continue their impressive track record of success in the years to come," he says. Investcorp did not return GlobeSt.com queries by deadline.
