Herskowitz will focus on agency and tenant representation at Cushman & Wakefield. He has been actively involved in the commercial real estate industry for nearly 25 years. As president and CEO of Grubb & Ellis New York, Herskowitz led the overall operations of the firm's tri-state regional offices. Grubb & Ellis tells GlobeSt.com that "we don't have any comment on Joel joining Cushman & Wakefield."

Prior to that position, he served as executive managing director of Newmark, where he was responsible for the entire brokerage division. He had previously represented tenants and owners in the sale and leasing of office space at Insignia ESG.

Herskowitz began his commercial real estate career as the founder of Priority Funding Inc., a commercial mortgage company. He later went on to establish R.E. Quest of New York, a sales, leasing and financial services firm. Herskowitz then served as director of Lawrence Properties, a division of the Bernstein Organization, where he established the firm's brokerage division.

"Joel's previous positions in both management and brokerage have made him an accomplished commercial real estate professional," says Joseph Harbert, COO of Cushman & Wakefield's New York Metro Region, in a prepared statement. "His years of experience and countless relationships within the industry will be of great value to our firm and our clients." Further comment from Herskowitz as well as from Cushman & Wakefield was unable to be provided by deadline.
