Cummings has been active in commercial real estate in Florida, Michigan, North Carolina and Texas since 1975. The 135-employee Ram Realty Services, an affiliate of Ram Development Co., is a full-service property and asset management division focused on the Southeast US.

Cummings became a Comerica Inc. director eight years ago after logging three years as a director of Comerica Bank. There are 13 independent directors on the parent company's board.

"We appreciate the valuable contributions Peter has made to our company and will miss his guidance and counsel," Ralph W. Babb Jr., chairman and CEO of Comerica Inc., says in this morning's press release.

Just four days ago, Comerica Inc. disclosed that Curtis C. Farmer will step in as executive vice president of Comerica Wealth & Institutional Management. He starts Oct. 20. Farmer is replacing Dennis J. Mooradian, who is retiring in the first quarter after six years with Comerica.

Farmer spent the past 23 years with Charlotte, NC-based Wachovia Corp., rising to executive vice president and wealth management director. He led the Southeast region, which includes the Carolinas, Virginia, Georgia and Texas.
