Panel Updates Legislative Stimulus

TEANECK, NJ-A smart growth coalition of real estate, labor and other development-oriented organizations outline a 12-bill stimulus package.

TEANECK, NJ–At Incisive Media’s RealShare New Jersey event, the Smart Growth Economic Development Coalition provided an update on the organization’s stimulus package that includes many of the initiatives Gov. Jon Corzine outlined in a speech several hours later. The coalition was organized 18 months ago to “harness all of the effects of all the legislation that has come down in the last few years that is going to harm our industry,” said coalition founder, attorney Ted Zangari.

“Between all of the regulations over the last few years and what is proposed now, there are only 88,000 acres in NJ left for development,” Zangari said.

And in his first speech since be named to head Gov. Jon Corzine’s Office of Economic Growth, New Jersey’s new economic czar, Jerold L. Zaro, used his keynote address to outline emergency economic incentives the governor would reveal several hours later.
