MIAMI-Local real estate veteran Scott Sime has joined Holly Real Estate as president of the newly formed brokerage division, Holly Sime Realty. Earlier this year, Sime was appointed managing director at CB Richard Ellis' Miami office, where he worked for nine years. Prior to working at CBRE, Sime was at Miami-based Codina Group for nine years.

"This was a very entrepreneurial opportunity to make a strong impact in the local market, the place where I grew up and lived my whole life," Sime tells GlobeSt.com. "I came from an international platform that is one of the best, if not the best, platforms in the business, if not the best," he says of his time with CBRE.

The ability to move quickly within a new entrepreneurial platform and the opportunity to work with multiple business sectors that lured him to Holly, he explains. Sime will oversee 15 brokers and all South Florida operations involving every product type at Holly Sime Realty. He says substantial deals are already in the works with the company that will have impact on the local market.

Sime is also working on the Holly Sime Industrial Fund, an investment pool that will launch in one week with a $10-million initial value. He says he will use his 15-year history of working in the industrial sector to grow Holly's portfolio.

"I've been doing [commercial real estate] for about 23 years and I have never been more excited about the business than I am now, and that has to do with the people that I'm working with and the opportunity in the market," says Sime. "This market is a tremendous opportunity for people who work hard to gain market share. We're very optimistic about what the future holds."

With the departure of Sime, CBRE has named Andrew Rudzinski and Rick Miller as co-managing directors for South Florida operations. In their new roles, they will jointly be responsible for coordinating all of the firm's activities across the tri-county marketplace. Mostly recently, Rudzinski served as the firm's managing director for Broward County operations and Miller served as the managing director overseeing Palm Beach County operations.
