Hillwood's Future Adds Solar With New Shop

FORT WORTH-Still working through a phased-in move, Entech Inc. is now within weeks of cranking up its new production line at AllianceTexas. The solar technology company is lighting 71,250 square feet in a long-term lease at Gateway 23.

Entech kept its headquarters and production move under wraps as it set up shop at 13301 Park Vista Blvd., a 142,500-square-foot spec project that was part of Hillwood’s 2007 development push to create ready-to-go space for the market. The lease includes five acres across the street for Entech’s solar module testing. Tarrant County tax records show Entech’s headquarters moved from 1077 Chisholm Trail in nearby Keller and the sales and service team relocated from 1714 Higgins Lane in nearby Haltom City.

Tony Creme, vice president of Hillwood Properties, tells GlobeSt.com that the developer plans to “explore” using Entech’s technology in its future buildings. Last year, Hillwood constructed five spec buildings, totaling 1.8 million square feet, at various spots in the 17,000-acre AllianceTexas. “By bringing Entech to Alliance, it’s a big step for us,” he says. “It’s one of the first big steps to learn about that technology so we can implement it in our development.”
