CineBistro will also include space for small theater productions and private meetings, according to Providence, RI-based Wasserman Real Estate Capital, which has been majority owner of the 275,000-square-foot complex for the past three years. Each theater will have roughly 85 seats, and moviegoers must be over 21 to get in for screenings.

"Our goal is to provide this neighborhood with a unique group of upscale retail, services and entertainment that is right for this very special, unique community," David Wasserman, principal of Wasserman Real Estate Capital, stated in a release. Wasserman and partners Vornado Realty Trust and Madison Marquette are in the process of redeveloping Hyde Park Village, located just west of Downtown Tampa at the intersection of Swann and Dakota Avenues.

The closing of Sunrise Cinema resulted in an uproar among fans of art-house films who complained that no other theaters in the Tampa Bay area would screen such obscure titles. However, Wasserman countered that the aging movie theater's presence ran counter to Hyde Park Village's upscale shops such as Brooks Brothers, Anthropologie and Williams-Sonoma.
