TAMPA-Marcus & Millichap Capital Corp. has named Larry Curry senior director of its local office. Curry, a 28-year veteran of commercial real estate finance, is responsible for originating loans and specializes in structuring debt and equity transactions across all major property types.

Before joining MMCC, Curry was director of the capital markets unit for Miami-based Cohen Financial. He previously worked with BancBoston Mortgage Co. and Travelers Real Estate Investment Management.

Curry says he was attracted to MMCC because of its reputation as a leader in commercial real estate capital lending and its national platform of resources. "The firm is uniquely positioned to provide competitive loan products even as the capital markets continue to tighten," he says.

Curry has a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Florida in Gainesville. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the National Multi-Housing Council and the Mortgage Bankers Association.

MMCC is a subsidiary of Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services, the largest commercial real estate brokerage firm in the US focusing exclusively on real estate investments. It sourced more than $1.5 billion of commercial real estate financing last year.
