Hammes Plans 30 Medical Assets in Middle East

BAHRAIN-A locally based holding company called Safe Hands Health System has hired Hammes Co. to develop and operate 30 medical facilities throughout the Middle East. Brookfield, WI-Hammes will oversee the projects at greenfield sites in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman.

The parties expect to complete the first four of the projects by 2012. Buildings are expected to range in size from 95,000 square feet to 125,000 square feet and will serve communities with populations in excess of 80,000 people. The facilities will include surgery centers, an emergency department, maternity care and other services.
