LA Fitness Slates 45,000-SF Club

SECAUCUS, NJ-When it opens later this year, it will be the eighth in New Jersey and the first in the Meadowlands region.

SECAUCUS, NJ-LA Fitness has agreed to open a 45,000-square-foot sports club at 450 Harmon Meadow Blvd. here, within Hartz Mountain Industries’ Harmon Meadow mixed-use development. The existing building there will be renovated, including the addition of a 3,500-square-foot mezzanine, and the club’s opening is slated for late fall of this year. Terms of the deal were not released.

“This location is our eighth in New Jersey and first in the Meadowlands,” says Bill Horner, SVP and chief real estate officer for the Irvine, CA-based LA Fitness. “This location is consistent with our belief that convenience, which we define as accessibility and great parking, can be a major component of a personal fitness program.”
