"This property is in a prime location, enabling its ownership to draw from a varied and diverse labor pool that includes greater Boston, Route 495 and Rhode Island," says Steve Patkin, Chariman of Autopart International, in a statement.
The property consists of 100,000 square feet of warehouse space with a 22-foot clearance and roughly 20,000 square feet of office. Standing on a 6.34-acre site the facility has 20 loading docks, one drive-in bay and a 144-space parking area.
The building was built in 1971 and eventually expanded in 1980, 1985 and 2000. In 2005, Advanced Auto Parts purchased AI--an automotive aftermarket parts company--and moved distribution and operations to Norton, MA. With Advanced Auto Parts gone, the space was ripe to be purchased. "Because of its proximity to several major highways in the region, the site proves to be an ideal location for Charles River Apparel to increase their presence in the Greater Boston market," points out Tom Kent, from DTZ FHO Partners which helped broker the deal. The 1205 Providence property is on Route 1 near Interstate 95 and routes 128 and 495.
Tom Kent and Sean Teague, along with Leeanne Rizzo from DTZ FHO repped Autopart International, while Warren Brown from Boston Commercial represented Charles River Apparel.
