Property manager Juan Machado of JLL was recognized in two separate categories: manager of the year, three to 10-years' experience; and corporate facility management for his work at HSBC Bank's 452 Fifth Ave. The award for manager of the year with more than 10-years' experience went to Robert Wallace, a Vornado Management VP and property manager at 1290 Ave. of the Americas.
Another Sixth Avenue tower--Beacon Capital Partners' 1211 Ave. of the Americas, managed by Cushman & Wakefield's Andrew Toland--won in the category of operating office building, more than one million square feet. A team led by manager Enzo Paternostro of Hines Interests Limited Partnership and the office tower at 750 Seventh Ave. won for operating office building, 500,000 to one million square feet; SL Green Realty Corp. and manager Jennifer Ciccotto took home the Pinnacle in the category of operating office building, 100,000 to 500,000 square feet.
Related Management's James Kleeman, GM of Time Warner Center, was honored as outstanding local member of the year. In the historical building category, Swig Equities secured a Pinnacle for 48 Wall St. IAC/InterActive Corp.'s property at 55 W. 18th St., managed by JLL, won in the category of new construction. SL Green's 485 Lexington Ave. won the award as best renovated building.
The US General Services Administration earned an award for the Alexander Hamilton US Custom House, while another government entity--the Bloomberg administration--received the Henry J. Muller Achievement Award for its PlaNYC 2030 vision of a greener New York City. The Muller award recognizes individuals or organizations that have had a major influence on the city's development.
The Earth Award, given to a building which has exemplified the greening of commercial real estate, went to Silverstein Properties' 7 World Trade Center. Safe Horizon, a nonprofit that provides shelter to domestic abuse victims, was recognized in the civic betterment category during the Feb. 4 ceremony, held at Chelsea Piers.
