In a prepared statement, Mitchell E. Rudin, president and CEO of the firm's New York Tri-State region, says that Gialanella will serve as a "conduit between New Jersey and the work he continues to perform as our global head of transactions services and a member of the Americas brokerage management team."

It was further announced that Ray Sohmer, executive managing director and the former market leader for New Jersey, is returning to full-time brokerage in the state. He joined CBRE in 2001, and assisted the state's operating platforms through two major integrations: Insignia/ESG in 2003 and Trammell Crow Co. in 2006-07.

Based out of CBRE's office here, Gialanella joined the firm in 2005, and has held several senior level positions at his current employer as well as Cushman & Wakefield. Under his leadership, revenue from referrals into and out of the New York Tri-State region grew by more than 80% from the end of 2005 through 2007.

A 15-year veteran in the field of commercial real estate management, Hipschman most recently ran the firm's East Brunswick office, and prior to that, the research/IT side of CBRE's business. Hipschman will work out of the office here. In addition, Patrick Luzzi, managing director, will assist Hipschman and Gialanella as he continues to oversee CBRE's New Jersey associate program and sales professionals. Expanding on this role, Luzzi will be more involved in overall brokerage management with a focus on professional development.
