Construction is slated to start in April, with completion expected by the end of December, according to the Kansas City Business Journal. The Adams Dairy Landing project is coming out of the ground on 65 acres near Interstate 70.

According to RED Development project information, the project includes Target and Lowe's as well as eight mid-size retailers, a lifestyle center for small specialty retailers and four pad buildings for smaller stores. The site is across the street from Wal-Mart and Home Depot.

According to earlier reports, when the project was first announced, more than 35 retailers are expected to be located in the project. Construction costs were estimated at $146 million. At the time, the first stores were expected to open in fall 2008.
