Furniture Store Enters Former Linens Space

PHILADELPHIA-Furniture chain Raymour & Flanigan is signing a lease at the Goldenberg Group’s Columbus Commons power center here, filling a 35,308-square-foot space that was vacated by Linens ‘N Things late last year. The store plans to open in June at the center, which is located at Christopher Columbus Blvd. & Snyder Ave.

Liverpool, NY-based Raymour & Flanigan has 87 locations in the Northeast and is looking to expand. Columbus Commons opened in 2004. Other tenants in the 643,810-square-foot center include Ikea, Best Buy and Champps.

Adam Rosenzweig, director of leasing of the Blue Bell-based Goldenberg Group, says Raymour & Flanigan executives were interested in the space because they were targeting a location in South Philadelphia and having trouble finding a location. The deal comes at a good time for the Goldenberg Group because of the recession’s tough leasing environment, he says.
