Developer Advances I-75 Industrial Project

CARTERSVILLE, GA-TPA Realty seeks DRI status for up to 8.4 million square feet on 707 acres.

CARTERSVILLE, GA-The developer of a proposed massive industrial park along Interstate 75 northwest of Atlanta has applied for development of regional impact status from the state government as the first step toward completing the entitlement and infrastructure process. Plans call for 8.4 million square feet to be built on the 707-acre expanse over the coming decade.

Duluth-based TPA Realty Services submitted its DRI report to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs earlier this month. The report cites a completion date of Jan. 1, 2019, though work on the first building could start early next year depending on demand for the new space.

“We’ve got enough land that we can be flexible to meet the needs of whoever shows up,” John Watson, principal of real estate development for TPA Realty, tells GlobeSt.com. “We’re doing the legwork now to get everything ready and be able to respond, and know that we can go vertical quickly when the time comes.”
