The country's economic situation makes it no surprise that more Americans are projected to eat at home in 2009. Even fast-food restaurants that enjoyed increased sales in 2008 are pulling back on expansion plans. According to research by Technomic, restaurant and bar sales are expected to drop 2.6% and sales at full-service eateries are expected to drop a full 6% this year.
