Tax Bill Last week I called a friend, a real estate executive, and asked how he was. He said, “I’m grateful that I made it through the first quarter.” We all seem to be measuring life in weeks and months as we inch along through 2009. Most of us just want to get this year over with. A recent New York Times /CBS poll was reported indicating that there is “new optimism on the economy since the inauguration”. This is good news because building consumer and business confidence is critical in navigating a turnaround. It reminded me of what T.S. Elliott once wrote, “April is the cruelest month, breeding lilacs out of frozen ground.” Cheers to the second quarter.
