"Loehmann's is the perfect complement to the existing tenants at The Palms at Town & Country," says Mark Yacovetta, director of asset management with TIAA-CREF Global Real Estate, the center's owner. "We continue to seek out retail opportunities that provide value for the community and our clients alike."

Flagler Development Group and Jones Lang LaSalle are working with TIAA-CREF on The Palms, which will feature numerous apparel, entertainment, home accessories and specialty businesses connected by pedestrian-friendly walkways bordering a six-acre lake. The open-air segment is part of 700,000 total square feet of new and existing space at the 72-acre site at 8268 Mills Drive.

The Palms' open-air complex will be built in three phases: 153,563 square feet set for completion this fall, followed by 69,503 square feet of retail to be finished in fall 2010 and 79,828 square feet to open in fall 2012. Jones Lang LaSalle is handling the center's leasing.

"The Palms at Town & Country remains an attractive destination for retail tenants because of its unique combination of ideal proximity to neighboring residents, ease of access and expansive renovation," says Michael Longmore, senior vice president with Jones Lang LaSalle. "We continue to seek out strategic retail opportunities that provide the widest breadth of options, including the introduction of national brands, to the Kendall marketplace."
