Construction Continues in West Caldwell

WEST CALDWELL, NJ-Work is progressing as planned on the $27-million Crane's Mill Continuing Care Retirement Community, scheduled for completion in early 2010.

WEST CALDWELL, NJ-Phase II construction of Crane’s Mill Continuing Care Retirement Community is nearly 40% complete, according to Del-Sano Contracting Corp. The $27-million project is owned by Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey, a faith-based, non-profit social ministry organization that provides social services and affordable housing to seniors and families across the state of New Jersey. The project commenced in August 2008 and is scheduled for completion in early 2010.

Specifically, development of the community’s infrastructure is complete. The foundation and structural steel is in place for 10 independent living cottages, which are already through the framing process.

Located on a 43-acre campus on the former site of a lumber mill dating to the mid-1700s, Crane’s Mill offers independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing care. LSM/NJ opened Crane’s Mill in August 1998. Once Phases II and III of Crane’s Mill are complete, the community will consist of 282 independent living units, 48 assisted living units, 18 dementia units and 66 units for skilled nursing and rehabilitation services.
