Castlewood creates men's and boys' activewear, with its products sold in more than 5,000 stores representing 200 different retailers. David Levy and Jeffery Schwartz of Adams & Co. represented the landlord while Marc Schoen of Savitt Partners, LLC spoke for Castlewood in the transaction. Asking rent for the space was $34 per square foot, according to a release.

A full-service men's apparel company that specializes in young men's fashion, Wear First Sportswear is headquartered in Shanghai. Levy and Schwartz of Adams & Co. represented both the landlord and the tenant in the transaction, with an asking rent of $36 per square foot. In a release, Levy comments, "We are definitely starting to see more confidence in the marketplace with larger and longer deals."

Built in 1927, the 18-story 42 W. 39th counts Perry Ellis International, Bluefly.com, Bernette Knitwear and Fantasia among its office/showroom tenants. Retail tenants include AEC Reprographics, American Barber Institute, Cordette Drugs and the Tall Girl Shop.
