BofA Plans Satellite Campus

CHARLOTTE-The bank giant wants to start work on a mixed-use project at a 24-acre site.

CHARLOTTE-Bank of America Corp. plans to develop a 24-acre University-area site as a satellite campus, according to the Charlotte Business Journal . The company says more than 2,000 workers could eventually be based there.

Buildout of the corporate office park at Mallard Creek Church Road and North Tryon Street could take five years or longer, depending on the economy. But BofA hopes to start the first phase in the near future, a representative told the Charlotte City Council last week.
