Midtown Building Gets Green Stamp

ATLANTA-Pershing Point is awarded LEED certification for an existing building.

ATLANTA-The seven-story Pershing Point office building, at 1375 Peachtree St. NE in the Midtown submarket, has been awarded LEED certification for existing buildings by the US Green Building Council, becoming one of the city’s first to achieve that status. The two-building, 410,357-square-foot property is owned by the California State Teachers’ Retirement System and managed by CB Richard Ellis.

CalSTRS and CBRE Investors worked together to implement numerous eco-friendly measures including water-conserving fixtures, lighting retrofits, occupancy sensors that help reduce power consumption, and green cleaning supplies and procedures. The changes, which led to the LEED-EB stamp of approval, are intended to ensure tenants’ comfort within the building.
