Barden Gale Becomes New CEO for JER

MCLEAN, VA-Barden Gale will be replacing Joseph E. Robert, Jr., who has been serving as CEO for the last 28 years.

MCLEAN, VA-J.E. Robert, a global commercial real estate investment management company, is bringing on Barden Gale as its new chief executive officer. Joseph E. Robert Jr., the founder, chairman and current CEO of JER Co. will assume the role of executive chairman, working alongside Gale who will take over the day-to-day of the company.

“Barden’s 32 years of experience, exceptionally diverse real estate background, investment expertise and track record as a manager, distinguished him amongst the candidates. His impressive leadership qualities will be instrumental in shaping the company and running the business,” says Joseph E. Robert, Jr. in a statment. “Barden is a top executive whose experience through the various real estate cycles, combined with his international experience, makes him a tremendous asset to JER today and in the future.”

Gale comes to JER from Starwood Capital Group where he was serving as vice chairman of real estate. Previous to this, Gale was CIO for real estate at ABP Investment US, Inc. where he oversaw a portfolio measuring at 20 billion euro. He also worked in an investment banking capacity for Salomon Brothers, Inc. in London and New York City; Nesbitt Burns Security; and as a practicing attorney.
