The lease was an early renewal, as the current lease is set to expire in roughly 12 months, signing with Recson a division of SL Green. "The New York area is one of our most important and robust markets of the 15 major metro markets that we support," says Bill LaPerch, AboveNet president and CEO, in a statement. "Our White Plains headquareters is strategically located to serve the needs of some of the world's most demanding customers."
The terms and rates of the lease were not disclosed, nor was there any mention of concessions which have become common among long-term signings and renewals, lately. John Barns, SVP and senior director of Reckson's Westchester/ Connecticut division, says "This transaction is a product of the relationship that we and AboveNet have established and have built up over the past decade. We value them greatly as a major tenant, and we are extremely pleased that they view us favorably as a landlord and want to remain at this trophy property for years to come."
