Last year, PGI, a global engineered materials company, closed its manufacturing plant here "to better align the company's capabilities with its long-term strategic direction," according to press reports. PGI continues to operate seven US plants in Benson and Mooresville, NC; North Little Rock, AR; Waynesboro, VA; Kingman, KS; Clearfield, UT; Guntown, MS; and Clackamas, OR. The locally based facility was originally built as a tomato canning plant, before being acquired by Scott Paper for the manufacture of non-woven polymer, and eventually by PGI.

A family-owned, full-service crane rental and construction support company, Thackray plans to offer the property for lease. According to the company, which will maintain space in the building, it is open to both single-occupancy and multiple tenants. PGI tells GlobeSt.com that the space is suitable for light and heavy industrial use. Binswanger is marketing the property on its behalf.
