The Cathedral at Chapel Hill totals nearly 300,000 square feet on 51 acres and features a 6,000-seat main auditorium, 60 offices, 40 classrooms, a theater and two smaller multipurpose auditoriums. Greater Traveler's Rest will move there from its existing church at 2600 Shepherd Drive, which will also be marketed for sale by CNL Specialty Real Estate Services.

"This was one of the largest religious facilities available in the United States," says Matt Messier, broker and principal of CNL Specialty Real Estate Services. The Orlando-based division focuses exclusively on religious, educational and not-for-profit properties.

CNL Specialty Real Estate Services is currently marketing 60 religious and educational properties nationwide of various sizes. It currently has one other megachurch among its disposition assignments, the 320,000-square-foot Without Walls Central Church in Lakeland, FL, with an asking price of $18 million or $56 per square foot.
