Newspaper May Move to Suburbs

ATLANTA-The AJC is exploring cost-saving real estate options, saying downtown costs too much.

ATLANTA-The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is laying the groundwork to move the newspaper from its current downtown home to a location that likely will be outside the city limits, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle. . Executives with the paper have been telling community leaders and employees about the possible move.

AJC’s parent, Cox Newspapers Inc., owns the current building at 72 Marietta St. as well as other facilities in the area. One strong relocation possibility is Gwinnett County, where the AJC decided to put its new printing presses a couple of years ago.
