Storm Business Park,

David Simard, president of Storm Properties, notes that Minneapolis-based Room & Board operates a retail location in Santa Ana and has a new store opening in Culver City in October. The Torrance distribution facility is centrally located to serve the 29-year-old home furnishings company's current and future delivery needs in the Southern California market and is scheduled to be operational mid September.

Bruce Champeau, vice president at Room & Board, points out that the company is enjoying "continued growth and consumer demand," which has fueled its expansion to the Los Angeles area. "We looked at several buildings in the region, but selected Storm Business Park because it offered us a premium, customer-friendly facility that embodies our brand," Champeau says. The company is in the process of relocating its existing delivery center from Lake Forest to Torrance, he adds.

The distribution facility features 18 dock-high doors, two ground-level doors, and 4,000 square feet of class A office space. Terms of the lease were not disclosed. Storm Properties was represented by Courtney Bell and Matt Stringfellow of the Klabin Co. Room & Board was represented by Rooney Daschbach and Rusty Smith of Cushman & Wakefield, and Tom Hauschild of the Tegra Group.
