Hotel Indigo Moves Into Tar Heel State

DURHAM, NC-The chain has opened the first of five hotels planned statewide.

DURHAM, NC-Hotel Indigo, a brand of InterContinental Hotels Group, has opened its first North Carolina location at Research Triangle Park. A total of five Indigos are planned statewide following the opening of the 125-room boutique hotel.

A 100-room location is set to open in Asheville later this year, with additional deals signed in Charlotte, Wilmington and Winston-Salem. The Durham hotel is owned and managed by Shrijee LLC under a license agreement with IHG.

Located near Interstate 40, the Hotel Indigo Durham is convenient to both Raleigh and Durham, as well as the three institutions making up the Research Triangle—Duke University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University. The 7,000-acre Research Triangle Park is home to more than 170 companies.
