We have been busy recently representing clients in the QSR space. For those not in the know, that stands for Quick Service Restaurants. One is a national client, recruiting a head of real estate, and the other is a national corporate service provider that makes a market in the QSR space. I decided to focus on this for today’s column because I have been struck by the scope and scale of the real estate associated with fast food operators. For example: Dunkin Donuts, Domino’s, Starbucks, McDonald’s, and, of course, Subway. We see one, two, three, four, and sometimes five of them at every major intersection, on every city street, and increasingly, on rural by-ways. Thousands upon thousands of QSR’s. That’s a lot of real estate that needs to be sourced, leased, fitted-out, administered, etc. Most QSR’s have scaled back considerably over the past 18 months, but with a recovery ahead, it’s going to be back to burgers and a renewed demand for talent in this space.

GREEN STREET ADVISORS Research Associate (NEWPORT BEACH, CA) The associate will be responsible for supporting senior analysts in preparing and publishing a wide range of research reports and preparing and maintaining complex financial models/valuation, projections, and databases, among other duties. PRUDENTIAL Investment Analyst (CENTENNIAL, CO) The analyst will be responsible for analyzing potential real estate transactions; conducting market/industry research on an as-needed basis; supporting marketing efforts for sourcing potential lending opportunities; and reviewing third party reports–including appraisals, environmental reports, property condition assessments–among other duties. TRIMONT REAL ESTATE ADVISORS Asset Servicing Analyst (ATLANTA) The analyst will be responsible for managing daily servicing functions of a portfolio of loan and equity assets and process transactions in a loan servicing system; reading and interpreting legal documents–such as promissory notes and loan agreements–to board the information to our servicing system and then to service those accounts; updating billing records and generate borrower statements/ invoices; processing customer service requests for borrowers and clients; and set-up and maintain complex, interest tracking spreadsheets in Excel; among other duties. GRUBB & ELLIS CO. Property Manager (FREDERICK, MD) The property manager will manage and direct the operations of each property to which assigned, at the least possible cost to produce the maximum return on the investment dollars, maintaining the property at the established levels of protection, care and maintenance. HARSCH INVESTMENTS Leasing Manager (PORTLAND, OR) The leasing manger will develop an in-depth working knowledge of the assigned properties; maintain a general understanding of the properties in the East Bay Region portfolio; understand the budget related to leasing for assigned properties; and understand the goals and objectives of each assigned property and implement the associated leasing guidelines, among other duties. BH PROPERTIES LLC Senior Vice President–Asset Management (LOS ANGELES) The SVP–asset management will manage, motivate and supervise the property management department, the construction department and the leasing department (as well as third party providers) for the company’s portfolio.
