the eighth-annual RealShare New Jersey
Jason Young, conference producer for the RealShare Conference Series, tells GlobeSt.com that the agenda features sessions on the office and industrial sectors, opportunistic investment and finance and sustainable design and construction, as well as a legislative update from the Smart Growth Economic Development Coalition.
The conference will tackle a host of questions designed to prepare attendees for 2010, ranging from where the opportunities are and what survival skills are needed to how the market will change after the upcoming election.
The event will kick off with a keynote address by Hessam Nadji, managing director, research services, Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services, who will present fresh market research for the region and New Jersey in particular. Nadji's remarks will lead into a "State of the Market" town hall meeting, moderated by Real Estate New Jersey editor Maria Wood. Panelists include Mitchell Hersh, president and CEO, Mack-Cali Realty Corp.; David Houston, president, Colliers Houston & Co.; Diversified Realty Advisors LLC managing partner Nicholas Minoia; Stephen Santola, executive vice president/general counsel at Woodmont Properties; and NorthMarq Capital managing director and senior vice president Mark Scott.
Following a networking break, there will be two concurrent panels: "Opportunistic Investment & Finance" and "Public Funding Opportunities for Sustainable Design and Construction." These will be followed by a coffee break, after which Michael Desiato, ALM's Real Estate Media Group vice president and group publisher will interview Charles Klatskin, managing director, industrial, at Jones Lang LaSalle, who will offer his frank take on the realities of today's market.
Next up is a legislative update courtesy of the Smart Growth Economic Development Coalition, moderated by founder Ted Zangari. Panelists include Bob Delia, chair of the government relations committee at the International Council of Shopping Centers, New Jersey Chapter; Conor Fennessy, vice president of government affairs at the New Jersey Apartment Association; Kenneth Lundberg, president, SIOR, New Jersey Chapter; Naiop-NJ CEO Michael McGuinness; and Timothy Touhey, executive vice president of the New Jersey Builders Association.
Following a second networking break, attendees will have their choice of two different sessions--one on the outlook for leasing, investment and development in the office market and a second on the industrial market.
The conference will conclude with a luncheon address by James W. Hughes, dean of the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University, and a nationally recognized expert on regional economics.
