Christmas Tree Shops, a division of Bed Bath & Beyond, will fill a space vacated by Linens 'n Things and join a roster of anchors that includes Barnes & Noble, the Gap, Modell's, Pier 1 Imports, and Eastern Mountain Sports. Other national and regional tenants include Lane Bryant, Dress Barn, Rite-Aid, Hallmark Cards, FYE, Annie Sez, TGI Friday's and Men's Wearhouse.

"This dynamic chain is replacing a good anchor in Linens 'n Things, which was a wonderful tenant for many years," says Ethan Goldsmith, leasing representative at Levin Management Corp., the property's exclusive leasing and managing agent. "The signing of this lease takes a large vacancy off the list in the Bridgewater market."

Located at the junction of US 202/206 and State Highway 28 in Central New Jersey, Somerset Shopping Center is in the middle of a five-mile population of nearly 112,000. Average household income is $118,490, up 31.2% since the last census, and the median household income is $90,370. The center is also served by I-287 and I-78, and the daily traffic count exceeds 100,000 cars.

"Christmas Tree Shops has a very loyal following and will certainly contribute to keeping the Somerset Shopping Center, one of the oldest and strongest open-air shopping centers in New Jersey, a favored retail destination," adds Goldsmith, who brokered the direct deal.
