Daniel Horowitz, executive managing director at Studley, says in a release that 850 Third "was the optimal Midtown choice" after a search on both the east and west sides of the submarket. He adds that Segal McCambridge was drawn by "the strength of the building's ownership, which has committed to build out a turnkey above-standard law firm installation at no cost to the tenant." Asking rents at the 21-story office property are in the high $40s per square foot, says Matthew Goldman, also an executive managing director with Studley, in a release.
Horowitz and Goldman represented the law firm, along with their Studley colleagues Jeffrey I. Peck and Joe Messina, both managing directors; and managing director Daniel Posy. Matthew Astrachan, EVP with Cushman & Wakefield, acted on behalf of Sonnenschein.
Segal McCambridge is scheduled to move to 850 Third in April 2010. Other tenants at the 628,900-square-foot office property, which is also known as the Discovery Building, include Discovery Communications, Citibank, Shearman & Sterling and Titan Outdoor.
